"The African-American Experience in Major League Baseball" - Photos from Houston

The Annenberg Institute of Sports, Media & Society recently travelled to Houston, Texas in order to interview five players for their ongoing research project, "The African-American Experience in Major League Baseball."

While there, Institute Director Dr. Daniel Durbin and Research Director Neftalie Williams sat down with Outfielder Enos Cabell, Outfielder Jimmy Wynn, Pitcher J.R. Richard, Infielder Grover "Deacon" Jones and Outfielder Ralph Garr.

"The African-American Experience in Major League Baseball" is an ongoing research project aimed to record video interviews of all African-American MLB Players who played in the 25 years following Jackie Robinson's breaking of professional baseball's race barrier. These videos will then be stored in an online digitial catalogue for posterity.

We've attached photos of the trip here, and video from the interviews will come shortly.

For more information on the project or how to contribute, please email Institute Director Dr. Daniel Durbin at ddurbin@usc.edu.
